this is the guest/studio bathroom
this is the main studio room. i didnt get a picture of the closet in here but its really cool. lots of shelves and storage! yay!
this is the courtyard after the cement has cured. we LOVE IT
this is my awesome laundry sink. its like a mini spa. the water moves around and agitates the clothes. its really neat, i think the kids are going to love it (and our poodle)
more laundry room. i should mention that the hardware is not installed yet.
this is the kids main bathroom....
charlies very very green room, john deere green to be exact. hes in love with it.
lelas pink room which suits her very well. shes mostly excited about the door and always asks me if it locks.
pipers purple/blue room which actually looks much more blue in this picture than it really is. her favorite place is inside the bookshelf.
a couple of the built-ins...
my kitchen! i cant wait to get the appliances in!!!
today was pipers first day at preschool. she was so excited! she feels like such a big girl even though shes such a little baby still. she waved goodbye to me so happily, i was really proud of her. shes super cute and made friends instantly. she was very proud of her lunch box, she wanted to carry it the whole day long.
the teachers said she had an awesome day and even napped! all piper had to say was 'i ready to go home now' and secretly, that made me happy(:
ok ok, i have been totally slacking on the updates so here are pictures from today. the stone goes on sometime next week, cement and flatwork is a few weeks out, cabinets get delivered tomorrow, interior doors on thursday, exterior doors the first week of next month, tile gets picked up this saturday and installed within the next few week, lots of awesome things are happening.
now, the bad news.....brians blood pressure is 170/120. the stress of the fire has caught up with him. he has been depressed for months but never saw the doctor, which i guess is typical guy behavior. the past 4 months or so he has been complaining of his heart beating hard and wanting to come out of his chest. so, hes finally on meds and they are working pretty quickly to get his heart back to normal.
hello everyone!
well, even these pictures im going to post are old. we have been INSANE! really, i cant tell you how time has flown these past few weeks. im going to post christmas pictures soon but i need to download all of them off my camera first. its gonna take time, just be patient, ill get it done.
we had a few weeks of major rain, which was wonderful and much needed but did put our construction on hold a little so the house progress has slowed down quite a bit. however, we are suppose to begin to drywall on monday, like i said these pictures are a few weeks old, we actually are sided and roofed, i cant wait to show you!!!
we took an evening over thanksgiving weekend and went down to the beach in oceanside with mom and jim. it was fun, of course the kids insisted on getting in the water even though the ocean was freezing. they are so funny, its like they dont even feel the cold. lela and charlie love the beach, charlie thinks the kelp is sea monsters and my normally neat lela doesnt mind getting sandy and wet. we had dinner at rubys at the end of the pier which was actualy really good. kinda your typical diner food but yummier. however lela (who continues her fire nightmares constantly) woke up last night asking me questions about what we would have done if the diner fell into the ocean, she wanted to know how we would have evacuated. she actually uses that word...evacuated....shes very concerned with how we will evacuate anywhere if there is another fire.poor baby, i wonder how long she will hold onto this?
there are a lot of pictures of the kids with mom and jim but i heard a rumer they will be using one for thier christmas card so i wont publish any of those on here. i dont want to ruin it for anyone(:
we held our thanksgiving in the brand new barn (workshop) this year which was really nice! i was so happy to be home, i dont get to spend a lot of time there so it was comforting. the kids had a great time playing with kim and katie in the van, i think they watched kung foo panda. just like the pilgrims (:
i think dinner was a success. i thought it was yummy! we had more desserts to count, i literally was only able to take one bite of each. brian made a pumpkin maple cheesecake that i have been secretly nibbling on every time i pass the fridge. my kids didnt eat much though, they were to busy yelling back and forth to eachother through the unfinished pipe that led into the bathroom. they were really cracking me up with the whip cream. they are so funny!
lela made homemade napkin rings to decorate the table. she was very proud. she also knew what she was doing. she took extra special care and time when she made her own. here she is passing them out. shes precious.
lets see, james and gail came up with katie and kim. maw maw and pop pop came in from vegas so we had lots of fun hanging out and talking. oh yeah and lets not forget, looking over the paper for black friday deals. brian is OBSESSED!
they have been so busy this week at shangrila. the electric, plumbing, gas lines, air conditioning, heating are at least close to being done. im probably missing something, oh yes, they papered the roof. it has been so fun to watch it all go in but i dont know how interesting pictures of wire would be so im putting up lots of pictures of the courtyard. we will be finishing the overhang with linseed oil. i think it will look really good when its all complete, in fact, i think it looks pretty darn good (correction, i LOVE it) right now as it is.
